Houston began as an insurance major at Middle Tennessee State University. He was an intern during college for Auto-Owners Insurance Company. After college, he worked as an underwriter for about 2 years with Auto-Owners. Houston’s passion and desire to help people with their insurance was bigger than the cubicle he was in as an underwriter, so he got in to the sales side of the business. He has graduated from the Dale Carnegie Course for public speaking and communications, which gave him additional skills on working with people as an agent. He speaks to everyone he meets about insurance, not to try and sell them something but to help them understand their coverages and because it is something that he loves and is passionate about.
